CHRISTINA IN HEALING

Voice & Sound Practitioner · A Journey from Performance to Presence

A Journey from Performance to Presence

Christina represents the inward and therapeutic dimension of Leonora Christina Gaitanou’s path—the part devoted not only to expressing through the voice, but to listening deeply to the human being behind it.

After years on the operatic and theatrical stage, a new question began to emerge within her:

What happens when the voice is no longer asked to perform, but is given the space to reveal, release and remember?

This question gradually led her from:

“Listen to me”

towards:

“I am listening.”

It marked a movement from performing for an audience to meeting each person individually—from a distance created by the stage towards an encounter based on presence, trust and deep listening.

Her Approach

Leonora Christina is a holistic voice and sound practitioner whose work is centred around four interconnected elements:

Voice

The voice carries more than words or musical sound. It is connected with breath, emotion, memory, identity and the ways in which we allow ourselves to be heard.

Approached gently and without judgement, the voice can become a pathway towards authentic expression, self-awareness and a deeper relationship with oneself.

Sound

Through resonance, therapeutic instruments and deep listening, sound creates an environment in which the body and mind are invited to slow down and receive.

Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, voice and other resonant instruments may be incorporated according to the nature of each individual or group experience.

Breath

Breath connects voice, body and emotional state. It offers an accessible way to return to the present moment, become aware of internal experience and support the gradual settling of the nervous system.

Smell

Through herbs and aromatic plant essences, scent becomes a gentle pathway towards grounding, relaxation, clarity or renewed energy. Inspired also by the philosophy of Aura-Soma, each aroma is selected intuitively and—with prior consent—may support a sense of cleansing, activation and deeper connection with the body.

Therapeutic Presence

At the heart of Leonora Christina’s work is the quality of the encounter.

She creates a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space in which each person can slow down, listen inwardly and explore what their voice and body may be ready to express.

Her intention is not to impose a particular sound, interpretation or outcome, but to meet each person with sensitivity and respect for their individual needs, rhythm and boundaries.

From the Stage to the Human Being

Leonora Christina works with people from many different paths through individual sessions, couples’ experiences, children’s sessions, workshops and collective sound journeys.

Her work welcomes those who experience tension or restriction around the throat and voice; those who wish to feel more grounded, express themselves freely and strengthen their capacity to be heard; and those exploring self-awareness, inner transformation or a deeper relationship with themselves.

She also supports people experiencing stress, overstimulation or exhaustion within the intensity of modern life and demanding working environments, as well as couples seeking relaxation and renewed connection. Children are offered a playful space for emotional awareness, creativity and authentic expression.

Her sessions may also speak to those who feel an inward or spiritual calling—a desire to examine limiting beliefs and patterns, release what no longer feels aligned and reconnect with a deeper sense of meaning, truth and inner direction.

Artists, singers, musicians and actors form one part of this wider human landscape. Here, her experience as an opera singer allows her to understand both the demands of performance and the vulnerable person beneath them.

The artist has not disappeared.

Her tools have changed direction—from asking to be heard towards creating the conditions in which another human being can hear themselves.

Training & Professional Development

Christina is currently completing advanced professional training in Voice and Sound Therapy with the British Academy of Sound Therapy in the United Kingdom (BAST). She is also a member of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.

Her approach has been further informed by training and exploration in complementary practices including breathwork, sound healing, Reiki (master), Aura Soma, Theta Healing, meditation, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, embodied and systemic approaches, psychotherapy, music and sound therapy, drama and play-based practices, the Alexander Technique, yoga, Tai Chi and the Alfred Tomatis method.

These practices are not presented as a fixed formula. They form part of a wider field of knowledge from which she draws responsibly, according to the needs, consent and boundaries of each person.

From Nectar to Honey

The practices that inform Christina’s work are not methods she encountered only through training. They first supported her own journey of healing, self-knowledge and inner transformation.

For many years, she moved like a bee from flower to flower—gathering nectar from different teachings, experiences and traditions. Over time, these elements were embodied, transformed and brought together into her own integrated approach: the honey created through the lived experience of her personal path.

An Integrated Understanding of the Human Being

Inspired by the ancient Asklepieia and their holistic understanding of health, Christina approaches the human being as an interconnected whole—body, heart, mind, soul and spirit.

This philosophy also informs her exploration of Opera as a Ceremony & Healing Process, through which she seeks to reconnect the arts with their ancient capacity to create catharsis, awaken awareness and serve the human soul.

Enosis Sound

Together with four fellow musicians, Leonora Christina co-created Enosis, a multidisciplinary sound-healing ensemble combining voice, piano, violin, keyboards, cello, gongs and singing bowls.

Through live healing concerts and immersive sound journeys, Enosis creates spaces of deep listening, inner stillness and collective presence.

A Movement Towards Wholeness

A central thread in Leonora Christina’s work is the restoration of balance between the feminine and masculine principles within us.

She approaches this balance as a movement towards wholeness—a meeting between receptivity and action, intuition and clarity, tenderness and strength.

Ultimately, her work is an invitation to return:

To the body.

To the breath.

To nature.

To the authentic voice.

To the quiet inner presence that remembers who we are.

Christina does not seek to become the healer of another person. Her intention is to hold a safe and compassionate space in which each individual may reconnect with the wisdom, truth and healing potential already living within them.

The voice becomes a path home.
